Lesson Info

Strike Technique:

Beginner – This class will cover mallet setup, introductory strike technique and basic rudiments.
Advanced –This class is designed to learn and improve strike technique and more advanced rudiments.

Flourishing Technique:

Beginner – Building from the four basic rotations, this class aims to cover a variety of flourishes suitable for newer players. This class will also introduce the process behind writing effective flourishes.
Advanced – Building on an expected existing foundation of flourishes, students will be introduced to advanced flourishing techniques (ie. Independents). We will also cover the process of flourish writing.

Drum Maintenance and Tuning:

All – Learn and review proper drum maintenance procedures, as well as effective tuning techniques and voicing schemes.

Music Theory/Score Writing:

All – Learn to effectively combine rudiments and flourishing to build the ideal drum score. This class will also cover basic music theory.

Splitting Rudiments:

Beginner – This class aims to teach the basics of voicing a midsection. This includes the process of writing a voiced score, as well as effective techniques for learning split rudiments.
Advanced – This class will cover advanced voicing schemes. It is expected that the student has a solid background in playing a voiced drum score.
